i was evesdropping (shutup!) on the bus today!
a caucasian lady was talking to her male chinese friend.
he was telling her all about Chinese New Year.
he was reciting the nightmare he endured while shopping for new clothes.
she told him about the QUEUES she saw outside bak kwa stalls. & people walking away with 1kg of parbequed pork. & how she can't imagine eating 1kg of pork.
the guy was, eat it with bread! eat for breakfast, lunch... & dinner too!
i think the lady must have gotten a little weirded out.
he continued, you have to be careful about these foods you know,
at this point i had to look up.
he did this gobbling gesture with his hands near his mouth.
i realised he was trying to warn her about how addictive bak kwa can be.
